The images are great, with many talented photographers having submitted solid work, this is not just one guy or studio giving one vision of portraiture. And the accompanying shoot diagrams are detailed enough to give any photographer the information to try and reconstruct the lighting -- and then experiment from there. A great learning tool in my opinion.

About the Author
JOYCE MEYER has been teaching the Word of God since 1976 and in full-time ministry since 1980. Previously an associate pastor at Life Christian Church in St. Louis, Missouri, she developed, coordinated, and taught a weekly meeting known as "Life In The Word." After more than five years, the Lord brought it to a conclusion, directing her to establish her own ministry and call it "Life In The Word, Inc."

Now, her Life In The Word radio and television broadcasts are seen and heard by millions across the United States and throughout the world. Joyce's teaching tapes are enjoyed internationally, and she travels extensively conducting Life In The Word conferences.

Joyce and her husband, Dave, the business administrator at Life In The Word, have been married for over 35 years. They reside in St. Louis, Missouri, and are the parents of four children. All four children are married and, along with their spouses, work with Dave and Joyce in the ministry.

Decent introduction and guide to Eckhart Tolle

My psychotherapist recommended The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I have been practicing mindfulness for a while, but I was not familiar with Eckhart Tolle at all. I decided to purchase this book after struggling to understand what exactly Tolle was writing about. Honestly, to my eyes The Power of Now read like a bunch of gobbledygook. However, after reading M. Rafat's guide to Tolle's teachings, I have a greater appreciation for what Tolle's philosophy is and what his objectives are. I hope that after reading this guide, I will be able to have a better understanding of The Power of Now and Eckhart Tolle. The only negative of this book is that there are a number of typographical and grammatical errors that should be corrected.

Awesome start to the new series! Love Jude Watson's writing!

Synopsis- Ian Kabra is getting used to running the Cahill family empire. With his second-in-command Cara Pierce, they have it all under control. That is, until someone calling himself the Outcast, hacks into the mainframe Cahill computer, rearranges a meeting scheduling, and arranges a coup. Ian is literally thrown out of the Cahill mansion. The Outcast then challenges Ian. The Outcast has fiendishly recreated 4 of history’s worst tragedies, and Ian must stop the tragedies before innocent people get killed. The Outcast demands that Ian cannot involve outsiders. So, that means that… he must find Amy and Dan in their seclusion, and… *shudder* ask them for help and convince them to come back.

What I Thought- The 39 Clues remains one of my top favorite series. The idea of it is very cool – a different author writes each book in the series, taking the story where they want it to go. It is cool to read the different styles of authors in each book. It is an action-adventure series with complex characters and intriguing plots for kids. The online game that goes with the books is fun too.

After Gordan Korman wrapped up things so nicely in the 4th book of the Unstoppable series (Flashpoint) -I was wondering where the 39 Clues series was going to go next. Thank you Scholastic for getting Jude Watson to write the first book of this new series! Just like Ms. Watson did with the first book in the Unstoppable series, she sets up what is sure to be another excellent Cahill adventure! I like how the story seems to revolve more around Ian Kabra, as Amy and Dan had retired from the Cahills, even though they do get involved. There is a lot of mystery going on in this book and I was second guessing many of the character’s motives. I like that the story line makes you think and is not predictable at all. Like the Unstoppable series, there are 4 planned books in the Doublecross series. July 28th is WAY too long to wait for the second book in the Doublecross series to come out. Book 2 is titled Mission Hindenburg by C. Alexander London.

Shows there is a world full of Grandmas and each one is special.

My granddaughter loves the childlike illustrations and brightly colored pages. This is a book she enjoys by herself because the art seems as important as the words. Being a long-distance Grandma, I like that this book keeps Grandma in the forefront of a child's mind. It shows there is a world full of Grandmas and each one is special.

The Grandma Book is Delightful!

The Grandma Book is delightfully written with simple, primary-color filled pages that grab a little one's attention. It is great for helping little ones to see how grandmas, and people in general, are different and in celebrating those differences. A must for every Grandma to give to their precious grandchildren.

Great Book, Needs Punctuation

The Grandma Book is cute book by Todd Parr that celebrates grandmothers-and their differences.

"Some grandmas like to make you eat a lot. Some grandmas like to make you things. All grandmas like to hear from you." (Punctuation added. That's right. There is no punctuation in this picture book until the final page which is a bit like an author's note since it says "Love, Todd". The lack of punctuation is my only dislike.)

The illustrations are bold and bright and have the bold black outline that is also popular in our beloved Maisy books. I definitely recommend this book to families who want a little reminder of the love of grandmothers and how special they are. One of my favorite sets of pages says, "Some grandmas live with a grandpa. Some grandmas live with their friends." (Once again, punctuation added.) It lets kids know that a retirement home or even a nursing home is still a home for grandma! The back cover even has a place for the reader to place a photo of Grandma!

I think The Grandma Book is great for a wide range of ages! I highly recommend it, and just wish that author Todd Parr had used periods in his writing.

I thank Little, Brown for providing this great book for us to enjoy for review purposes. We think their books are fabulous!

Kids spend too much time inside. They are getting obese and sick with health issues. This book is a wealth of information on how to spend more time outdoors. Unless you live in a state where snow is a "serious" issue in winter - most schools only have to deal with rain. Dress the kids for rain and get outside - even on a rainy day. This book had a ton of ideas on how to do it. At least 8 out of the 12 months of the year are wonderful weather for outdoor explorations for young children. When it is too cold or snowing - bring nature and the outdoors inside the house or classrooms.
