I don't like this adaptation because it is not narrated by Scout. That's part of the charm of the novel, a young girl's perspective on these important events. And this stage version doesn't capture it.

Excellent adaptation, although I wish Sergel wasn't so in love with the idea of making the play's intermission the same as the trial's recess, as it makes it unnecessarily difficult to switch from the town set to the courtroom, something which, had he been willing to "kill his darlings," could have been done during the intermission.

About the Author

Having trained in Emergency Medicine, Jonathan Wyatt undertook two years of research in Forensic Medicine which resulted in an MD from the University of Edinburgh. Jonathan has undertaken clinical forensic work both in Scotland and England since 1996 and provides expert forensic opinions. He works as a consultant in Emergency Medicine in Cornwall and has a strong academic interest, with more than 100 publications in peer reviewed journals.


Dr Guy Norfolk was the founding President of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of London and is Consultant Forensic Physician to Avon and Somerset Constabulary. He chaired the Education and Research Committee of the Association of Forensic Physicians and was the former forensic medical advisor to the Police Complaints Authority. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine and he lectures frequently at induction and development training courses for forensic physicians.
In addition to publishing various articles in the field of clinical forensic medicine he has also contributed eight chapters to textbooks on related topics.

The Goldman mystery will remain a mystery.... This is NO biography by any stretch of imagination. Not one interview with the subject of this book! Wow!!!! I would have liked, and this is why I purchased the book, how was his relationship with singers with whom he work ed with, such as P-Kaas C.Dion, and many others. anything to say about his relation ship with his 1st wife, his children, divorce... just a bit personal yep? zipp.
Very superficial accounts of his becoming a well known signer then songwriter.. in a nutshell: disappointing read and poor research on the main character. written in a decent french.

I'm a Turnaround CEO and Advisor. The principles in this book really work, turning followers into motivated, respected leaders at ALL levels of the organization. How would that feel in your company? How would that make your own job easier?

David tells a riveting story of 135 people on the worst submarine in the US Navy that become the best by changing three things: Control (giving it to the people themselves instead of barking orders); Competence (ensuring proper training and continuous development of skills); and Clarity (everyone absolutely knowing what the organization is trying to accomplish at all times). These are broken down into smaller, bite-sized principles.

I've used the same foundational principles over the years in my own assignments, and it works brilliantly. Unleash the people, help them get what they need, help them all row in the same (correct) direction, and amazing things happen, quickly.

Being a retired Navy Master Chief I found Capt. David Marquet's experience on the Santa Fe a lot like some of my experiences as well. I had an opportunity to do something different in regard to leadership styles at one of my at-sea commands onboard the USS Elmer Montgomery. I have read and re-read Turn Your Ship Around 3 or 4 times and each time I've uncovered another thought or idea that I can use going forward.
