Many are not fortunate to view the 'Hour of Power' show but Robert Schuller's books are indeed great Spirit builders and I always possess them as a treasure to read, share and part the wisdom to let life to bloom to the fullest. Many a times we fail in our endeavours, face conflicts, let down, get hurt n pain, relationship hang ups or any down-time set backs in life. All through the way, its attitude that makes a big difference! It's during such times, we need to view life in a positive mode of way to turn every dream into a possibility with hope and faith. Rob has practical view when he focus on 'Failure is just a bend in the road, not a dead end' It's knowing how to nurture and cultivate possibilities, pull out from negative attitude and turn dreams to reality! You have a vision and Success is never ending, Failure is never final...Another 'Must' pick by your bediside on the shelf!

The Volatility Smile provides an access- ible account of both the classic Black-Scholes-Merton option model and the newer extensions of the model that have been developed over the past forty years. In contrast to textbooks that accentuate formality over intuition and understanding, The Volatility Smile explores both the ideas and the mathematics behind the models, walking a middle line between the rigor of the academic world and the practical insights of the trading desk. Based on a clear formulation of the principles of financial modeling, The Volatility Smile is also a book about how to evaluate and build financial models.

Prior to the 1987 global stock market crash, the Black-Scholes-Merton option valuation model seemed to describe option markets reasonably well. Since the crash, however, equity index option markets have displayed a persistent volatility smile, in blatant disagreement with the Black-Scholes-Merton model. Quants around the world have labored over the preceding decades to extend the Black-Scholes-Merton model to accommodate this anomaly.

Good financial models begin not with mathematics but with an understanding of the behavior of securities and markets. The first half of this book therefore focuses on the theory of option valuation, a study of the Black-Scholes-Merton model, illustrations of how to make practical use of it, and a discussion of its limitations. The second half provides an analysis of the empirical behavior of the volatility smile, and a detailed account of multiple ways in which the Black-Scholes-Merton model can be extended so as to rectify its inadequacies. Plot/Storyline: 4 stars
These somewhat-interrelated romances (NOT romantic comedies, in case that is what you were expecting) are set around different holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Valentine's Day. The character-driven tales are quite predictable and not-quite-believable, with each lonely woman meeting Mr. Right in the least likely way, but this won't be a drawback to romance fans. "Missing Christmas" is the exception; the perfect hero and heroine are already living together as the story starts, facing problems. And Scott skips the detailed sex scenes that push some romances over the line into erotica. There are a few minor plot holes. When a character turns out to have had a good first marriage but a lousy second marriage, Scott never indicates which marriage produced the child. The police don't take missing-person reports on adults for 24 hours. Only romance fans will enjoy the stories.

Characters: 3 stars
The stories are peopled almost exclusively by stock characters - wounded divorcee, lonely workaholic, tired-of-dating singles - but this again won't be a drawback to those who like the genre. All the women are incredibly gorgeous, all the men are heavenly hunks who have resisted all other women for years but instantly fall for the heroine, and able to read their woman's mind and do exactly what is needed, totally understanding and supportive. Scott keeps the story so focused on the main characters that the reader may not notice that she pays very little attention to the minor characters.

Writing style: 3.5 stars
Sentence structure is clean and appropriate. Dialogue doesn't really distinguish between the different characters, but since they were stock characters I wasn't surprised I had trouble keeping them straight. Descriptions mostly consisted of the characters' physical perfections and tender actions: "His brown eyes stood out against his green shirt." "He should be yelling at me, but he was being sympathetic and understanding." "Is your hair really that gorgeous red?" "those long dark lashes" "And next time you get homesick, I'll make sure to really listen." "wrapped up in a six-foot tall blond bow and a gorgeous Armani winter coat" "But the way Charlie stared in her eyes chased that bad feeling away." An occasional exception was used to advance the plot: "the bloody fingerprints she was now leaving on the steering wheel."

You smile non-stop while reading and you get that warm feeling as each story is connected to the other and they all come together in the end. "Holiday Flirts" is like a nice box of Christmas candy. The stories each have their own flavor and make you feel good. Lisa Scott has a knack for setting up a quick romantic encounter. A girl gets locked in a dressing room over night and finds her HEA with the store manager. A neighbor thinks she is foiling a thief, but is really messing up a Christmas surprise. Three gal-pals make a New Years Resolution to give up men and learn something new until Valentine's Day. She writes novella-length, but delivers engaging characters and fun situations. Perfect reading on the go when you want to have a mental vacation. Purchase and enjoy!

Without even trying, Groucho Marx was a very funny man. He was irreverent and cutting, but never malicious. You should read his letter to Warner Brothers when they sent him a 'cease and desist' letter about the movie Night in Casablanca. If you are looking for a non-autobiography autobiography, this is it. He constantly tries to avoid talking about his personal life, but the whole book is clearly about his personal life. There just aren't any like him left out there anymore.

No ghost writer here. I could hear Groucho's voice speaking every single word. Not so much a biography as it is a series of wonderful stories that occurred throughout his life.

If you're a Groucho fan you'll really enjoy this book. Once started, it's hard to put down until finished.
