About the Author
ELMER L. TOWNS is Dean Emeritus of the School of Religion and Theological Seminary at Liberty University, which he cofounded in 1971 with Jerry Falwell. He continues to teach the Pastor’s Bible Class at Thomas Road Baptist Church each Sunday, which is televised on a local network and Angel One.

Fasting without Prayer... is just a diet

This is the book born of the grace filled encounter of Jentezen Franklin and Elmer Towns.
There are now so many titles that really don't draw the distinction between fasting and dieting.... what makes THIS book different is the distinction is unambiguous.
The Table of Contents really opens the book for you. Each of the Sections is an invitation... to open your heart to the movement of the Holy Spirit. "Food" for the journey. This is a book to return to across the year to renew and refresh.
Whether 2014 will hold your first season of fasting or if you now plan a 24 hour day of prayer and fasting as essential to your week, Fasting with the Lord's Prayer brings you to a home coming place of discipleship. It is uniquely structured to allow you to deepen your journey of faith by entering the text at the place where you are. I learned so much from this book. We think we know the Lord's Prayer, but I now know I did not, there is so much more to the Lord's Prayer when you break it down verse by verse and truly understand what each line has to offer. It will enlighten you.
