J'Anmetra is a strong advocate for victims and survivors of domestic violence. As a former Preacher's Wife, she speaks candidly about the issues of domestic violence and abuse with emphasis on empowering individuals who are victims and survivors of abuse. By educating and bringing awareness to the community, she believes survivors are the teachers who can carry the message of education, awareness, and empowerment to their families and communities. J'Anmetra is the mother of two daughters and the CEO of the Bare Your Hair hair care line and Waddell Consulting Services. Amazing Grace!

This book was submitted for consideration for a book award for The Writers Ball 2016. Once the reviewing committee completed their recommendation, I picked up the book and began reading it and did not know what to expect. I could not put it down! I was so consumed with what I was reading. You see I first thought that it was a fictional piece written by an accomplished author. After reading several chapters, I looked back over the first chapters of the book to see the title again and read the submission report and realized that this was a true story from an emerging author.
This beautiful author went through hell at the hands of someone she loved...her husband. I hurt for her while reading this unbelievable yet true story. How could a human treat another human like that! But Ms. Waddell wears her crown so beautifully that you would've never known that she experienced a living hell. And probably death had she not trusted GOD to get out of her situation.
This book is a must read for anyone who is going through domestic violence or knows or suspects someone who may be experiencing something similar. Many did not have the courage to get out of their violent situation. Many tried to leave but were unsuccessful. Many died at the hands of the men that they loved and trusted. Thankfully this author lived to tell her story.

Could not put it down!

This is a gripping account of a woman's struggle to survive abuse from her husband. As I began reading it, I could not put it down until I read every word. How many of us have stood by and not intervened when we knew something was wrong? What a brave story to tell with such raw honesty. I absolutely cannot wait to see how she picked herself up to become the woman she is today.

Awesome book!!! Definitely a must read for all women whether you have been through this or not!! This book most certainly will bless and save lives!! Such a great read, can't wait for Part 2!!!
