Memories

Having seen the original in a theater in Atlanta, Ga. where a jokester actually ran down the aisle with a chainsaw(minus the chain on the machine) still made the noise and scared the ___ out of everyone but me. I love Horror always have even as a child. I waited impatiently for this movie to be released. Reading how it was made was great and nostalgic. I own all the Chain Saw movies on DVD , but come on nothing beats the 1st one.Ahh! the memories. I'm really not weird, well maybe a little. I do have a Chain Saw Tattoo! Really, No Joke!

A Great Look Behind the Mask

I heard about this book when I met Gunnar Hansen at a horror convention. He told me about this book and I immediately downloaded it onto my tablet. I read it in just a few days. It offers great insight from someone who was a part of the most groundbreaking horror film ever made.
Gunnar goes through scene by scene of the shooting of the film, with interviews with the other cast and crew members. He details all of the filming from day one until the last day of shooting. Then he discusses the aftermath of the films release and the reactions it received. This book is a must read for any horror fan or fan of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

An Enlightening Insight Into a Classic Horror Flic

Soon after having watched this movie, the original TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE (1974), I came across this book while surfing Amazon. I love "behind the scenes" type books that shed light on the inner workings of a book or film. In this case, the author, Gunnar Hansen, played the role of the original Leatherface, which, to me at least, made it even more intriguing. I was not disappointed. There are so many mixed emotions surrounding this film, some hate it, some love it, but it's clear that this movie, along with George A. Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968), were undoubtedly two of the earlier horror movies that set the tone for all future movies in this genre. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to hear the facts, not myths, about what really happened before, during, and after the making of this great movie.
